My college career reached its climax on the evening of May 6 in the Kent Student Center Ballroom.  A feeling of pure pride and euphoric achievement overwhelmed me while sitting through the Greek Life 2009-10 Closing Ceremonies as “Delta Upsilon” became frequently spoken from the stage and was capped with the ensuing finale of the declaration of the Fraternity of the Year.

Delta Upsilon, by far, was a contestant for the most awards, received the most awards (organizational and individual), and had the greatest undergraduate and alumni presence of any fraternity.  The awards include:

Individual Academic Excellence Award - Joseph Manilla

Excellence in Academic Education and Programming

    Excellence in Multicultural Programming

    Excellence in Philanthropy

    Excellence in Parent Involvement

    Excellence in Hazing Prevention

    Second Place in Greek Week

Outstanding Chapter President Award - Justin Pierce

    2009-10 Fraternity of the Year

Though this evening was the pinnacle of my stay here at Kent State University, I am truly confident that the high caliber men, which I am honored to call my undergraduate brothers, will not settle for greatness just at the Kent State level but will strive to become a top-tier chapter of Delta Upsilon internationally.  These awards will be celebrated shortly.  We are not content; our 2009-10 academic year accomplishments will only serve as a standard of excellence for the chapter as we move forward.

    Hail Dikaia,
